Nov 8, 2026Delaware pages and calculatorFifty-state re-verification: Delaware's two sources for the annual tax now agree. When this site launched, the Division of Corporations charged $400 while the Delaware Code Online text of section 18-1107(b) still printed $300, and our pages disclosed that split. The Code text has since been updated to $400, so the split disclosures were rewritten. The amount charged was $400 throughout and no total changed. The same check added a figure the pages had not printed: an LLC with registered series pays an additional $100 annual tax per registered series, plus a $50 penalty per series if late, under section 18-1107(b) and (e).
Nov 8, 2026Washington guideAn internal drafting note about the dissolution filing fee was published in the guide's text by mistake and has been removed. The fee itself, a $0 base charge for articles of dissolution under WAC 434-112-085, was correct as printed.
Nov 8, 2026Annual reports guideThe guide's body text said a typical report costs "$31 to $150." The correct range across the fifty states is $0 to $500, which is what the page's own FAQ already said. The body text now matches.
Nov 8, 2026SitewideFifty-state sweep: several comparisons written when this site covered five states were corrected. Texas's $300 is the second-highest formation fee, not the highest (Massachusetts charges $500). Arizona's $50 is one of the lowest formation fees, not the joint lowest (Kentucky charges $40). North Carolina's $200 annual report is among the highest, not the joint highest (Massachusetts $500, Maryland $300). Indiana's roughly $15.50 a year is among the lowest recurring costs, not the lowest. Superlative lines on the Ohio, Mississippi, and Illinois cost pages were softened to match the fifty-state figures.
Nov 8, 2026Illinois guideThe statement that Illinois has no single state business license was hedged. The claim could not be verified at a primary source, so the page now says Illinois runs no general state business license for LLCs and points readers to their industry regulator and city clerk.
Nov 8, 2026Services comparison and Northwest vs. ZenBusinessThree fixes from re-checking the vendors' live pages. ZenBusiness's registered agent pricing is now flagged as inconsistent on the vendor's own pages: $99 plus state fees for the first year on its agent page, a flat $199 a year on its pricing page. Our five-year math keeps the $199 renewal figure, the price that repeats. Bizee's Standard tier no longer implies its compliance alerts are a paid extra, since Bizee's FAQ includes lifetime compliance alerts with every package. And the ZenBusiness five-year path is now described as nearly double Northwest's cost rather than roughly double. The figures themselves, $995 against $539, did not change.
Nov 8, 2026Nebraska cost pageThe name reservation now also shows the $25 electronic filing tier set in section 21-192(1), alongside the $30 figure on the Secretary of State's schedule, which remains the figure our text leads with.
Nov 8, 2026How to form an LLCThe FAQ for founders without a US Social Security number or ITIN now includes the IRS phone application route for international applicants, which our EIN guide already described.
Nov 8, 2026BOI trackerThe New York section now states that an exempt foreign LLC files a signed attestation of exemption instead of skipping the filing, on the same deadlines, and that each New York disclosure or attestation carries a $25 filing fee (LLC Law section 1107; New York Department of State).
Nov 7, 2026Northwest vs. ZenBusinessLaunch-day audit correction: the ZenBusiness Pro five-year path was overstated. Pro plus agent service for five years is $995 before the agent and $1,990 with it, not $1,990 and $2,985 as first published. The error double-counted the agent. Fixed in the table, body text, and FAQ the same day.
Nov 7, 2026California cost and report pagesLaunch-day audit addition: a 2026 law (SB 122) cuts the first-year annual tax to $400 for first tax years beginning in 2027 through 2029, making year one $490 in that window; the pages now say so wherever the $890 total appears. Also added: the $250 penalty for a delinquent Statement of Information, the six-month biennial filing window, and the 10 percent underpayment penalty on the estimated LLC fee, all from the Franchise Tax Board.
Nov 7, 2026BOI trackerLaunch-day audit corrections: the willful-failure penalty now reads $591 per day, FinCEN's current inflation-adjusted figure (the statute says $500). The data-deletion description was narrowed to what the final rule actually directs: deletion of information FinCEN reasonably believes belongs to US persons. Added the still-live deadlines for foreign companies (April 25, 2025 for earlier registrations; 30 days for later ones) and a section on New York's LLC Transparency Act.
Nov 7, 2026EIN guideLaunch-day audit corrections from IRS sources: the online application's actual hours (weekdays 6 a.m. to 1 a.m. Eastern, plus weekend hours) replaced a vaguer description; the Form W-9 guidance for single-member LLCs was corrected (a disregarded single-member LLC uses the owner's number on a W-9, not the LLC's EIN); fax and mail timelines added (about 4 business days by fax, about 4 weeks by mail); the lost-letter replacement is now named (Letter 147C, via 800-829-4933).
Nov 7, 2026Texas report and cost pagesLaunch-day audit correction: the $50 penalty applies to a late franchise tax report; the Comptroller states there is no $50 penalty for a late Public Information Report alone, contrary to what our cost story first implied. The real consequence of skipping the free report, forfeiture of the right to transact business, is now stated, with the reinstatement process (Form 801, $75, after Comptroller clearance).
Nov 7, 2026Florida report pageLaunch-day audit correction: the annual report is entered and submitted online only on Sunbiz; mailing a check is a payment method after online submission, not a filing method, and the page no longer says mail filing is accepted. Added the reinstatement math ($100 plus $138.75 per year owed) and the $25 Articles of Dissolution for closing on purpose.
Nov 7, 2026Illinois report pageLaunch-day audit precision fixes from the LLC Act: the $100 late penalty grows by $100 for each additional delinquent year, and the 120-day dissolution clock runs from the Secretary of State's notice of delinquency, not from the due date. The $50 expedite is now identified as a paper-filing fee; online reports process in real time.
Nov 7, 2026Registered agent guide and services comparisonLaunch-day audit corrections: the commercial agent price range is $125 to $249 a year across the five providers we track (LegalZoom's $249 was missing from the guide's list), not $100 to $200 as first published. On the comparison page, Tailor Brands' branding tools are now credited to the Elite tier only (Essential does not include them), and Bizee's Standard tier is described by its actual contents; expedited filing is Premium-only.
Nov 7, 2026SitewideSite launched. All state fees for Indiana, Illinois, Texas, Florida, and California verified against official state sources on this date, and all vendor package and registered agent prices checked on the providers' own pricing pages.
Nov 7, 2026Registered agent guidePre-launch verification: Bizee's registered agent renewal is $149 a year, the figure stated consistently across Bizee's current pricing pages. Lower figures ($99, $119) still circulate in older guides and on some of Bizee's own older pages. Our guide and comparison carry the current $149.
Nov 7, 2026BOI trackerTracker established at the August 14, 2026 final rule (91 FR 52508) with the October 27, 2026 multistate lawsuit noted as pending. Status will be updated here and on the tracker as the case moves.

How to report an error

Email [email protected] with the page and, if you have it, a link to the official source. We check every report against the official source. If you are right, the page is fixed and the fix is logged here.

Our verification rhythm

State fees and deadlines are re-verified against official sources on a quarterly sweep, and sooner when a state announces a change. Vendor prices are re-checked monthly. Tracker pages are updated when the underlying facts move. The checked date on each page tells you how fresh its numbers are.
