Privacy Policy
Last updated November 7, 2026. This policy explains, in plain language, what information this website collects, which is very little, and what happens to it.
The short version
LLCForming has no user accounts, no comment system, and no checkout. We do not sell personal information. We have never had any to sell. The site is a collection of guides and a calculator that runs entirely in your browser.
What is collected when you visit
- Standard server logs. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, records basic technical information for security and reliability, such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested. Every website host does this. We use it to keep the site up and to understand which guides get read, in aggregate.
- The calculator. The LLC cost calculator runs in your browser. The state and options you select are not sent to us or stored anywhere.
- Fonts. This site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests font files from Google's servers, as on much of the web.
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how the site is used in aggregate, such as which guides get read most and roughly how readers arrive. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to do this. What we see back is totals and trends across all readers, not a record tied to you personally.
- Heatmaps and session recordings. We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use our pages in aggregate. Clarity builds heatmaps showing where readers click, move, and scroll on a page, and it can record an individual visit as a session recording, a replay of how that visit navigated the page. Clarity sets cookies in your browser to do this. We use what it shows us to find confusing pages and improve the site. It is not used for advertising, and we do not use it to identify you.
What happens when you email us
If you write to [email protected], we receive your email address and whatever you put in the message. We use it to reply and, for corrections, to fix the site. We do not add you to a marketing list for emailing us, and we do not share your message outside the small team that runs the site.
Links to other companies
Many pages link to formation companies, registered agent providers, and government sites. When you click through, the destination site's own privacy policy governs what it collects. Some provider links are affiliate links; a provider may use a cookie to attribute a purchase to this site for commission purposes. That cookie belongs to the provider's site, not ours, and it exists to pay a commission, not to profile you for us. We receive aggregate commission reports, not your personal details or order contents.
Cookies on this site
The cookies set through this site are the ones Google Analytics uses to measure aggregate usage and the ones Microsoft Clarity uses for the heatmaps and session recordings, both described above. We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not set advertising cookies of our own. If you prefer not to be counted at all, Google offers an official Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on that works across the web.
Children
This site is business information for adults forming companies. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
